Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly prevalent in many aspects of our lives, and the field of writing is no exception. As a hobbyist programmer and game developer, I recently had the opportunity to experiment with a state-of-the-art language model called Chat GPT. In this post, I want to share my experience and the insights I gained by using Chat GPT to write a book about weight loss.
My journey with Chat GPT started when I was working on a video game called Last Stand. I was having an issue with the pivot controller on the soldier entities, and I decided to reach out to Chat GPT for help. To my surprise, Chat GPT was able to provide me with the code to fix the rotation issue. This got me thinking about the potential of AI-assisted writing for larger projects.
Over the last several years, I’ve been focusing more on my health and I’ve been able to lose over 40 pounds by changing my diet and exercising regularly. I’ve been asked a lot about what I did, so I decided to use my tech and programming knowledge to write a book about applying design principles to weight loss. I took the strategies and techniques that I used to lose weight and put them into 10 design patterns that can be used by anyone on their own weight loss journey.
To write the book, I used Chat GPT as a writing assistant. I provided the AI with the main ideas and guided the content, but Chat GPT helped me to generate text, complete sentences, and even entire paragraphs. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with Chat GPT’s capabilities. The AI was able to understand my writing style and tone, and it helped me to write faster and more efficiently.
In conclusion, my experience with Chat GPT has been very positive. As an AI assisted writing tool, it has the potential to revolutionize the way we write and create content. It’s not a replacement for human writers, but it can help us to write better, faster, and more efficiently.
